Hi, I have a Samsung Plasma model # PN60E530A3FXZA version # TS02. Unless there's an easy way you can think of. I wouldn't be able to tell if it changes channels. Ive double and triple checked the connections. The power light in the front does not come on.what should I do? Did it just play out and a new one is needed! If so, can u recommend a brand for my next investment, if necessary? I disconnected it from the power in the wall for the entire night but nothing. It is connect with the surround sound through my DirecTV box so I still hear the TV. Anyway, I was watching it, then suddenly it went off.

I have a 50"LG Plasma TV about 4 years young. I can get the "home Menu to come up so picture is still there. After about 5 minutes it shuts offand light on control box blinks blue continously. I turned my Pioneer Plasma PDP 5060 HD TV on and I get a message on the bottom that says "starting please wait" and "Plasma display" I have unplugged but no change. Hi Tom when the tv shuts off and the blue light comes on does it blink if so how many time? Removed buffers individually and power on - no result.Īfter talking to repair guy he reckons its the t-con.Īny ideas before i get the oscilloscope out? Going to do a test of the y buffers - ordered a new y-sus but didnt fix the issue. If it doesnt switch off your power supply is liable to be ok.Ĭannot change channel or input selector it stays on hdmi 1. My fix was to resolder the top 22ohm 5 watt resistor.Īctually i replaced both as the top one had blown but best to replace both but as you are getting power it soundslike your psu is ok - what happens when you press the power button on the remote does the tv come on or do you hear a click and the tv switches off. Yes Sarah exactly the same happened to me. And maybe get some extra ribbon cables to test if cables are bad. Next I'm going to try the main power board and logic board. Omendata, which spots do you jumper with a paper clip? I'm low on disposable income, so the tv is just sitting apart currently till I can find the next board to swap for cheap. You can remove the y-buffers to test em but first thing i would do is check and see if you can get a picture with the two test points on the control board.

Then measure the actual vs,va and standby on the boards that use them y-sustain, z-sustain, control board. You really need a multimeter and to measure the output of the psu labelled vs,va and standby - 200v,93v,5v respectively. Watch what you are doing swapping boards - if your y-buffers are gone and you plug in a new ysus board you can blowe the new ysus board. My problem was the z-sus and blown psu but its all sorted now and cost less than £50.

Which means z-sus, control board, y-sus are really all that is left to test. Patterns on screen also mean the main logic board is ok. If you get test patterns on the screen then you are halfway to fixing your tv as it means the most expensive part the screen is ok and the buffers. There are two point near resistor p104 they are the only places on the control (logic) board you can bridge. Haha i know how it is im unemployed myself so have to fix everything myself - fixed my car twice thi syear, washing machine, cooker - good thing about being skint is you are forced to learn new things out of necessity.įirst remove the lvds cable from the control board to the main board. By bypassing the main video board by shorting those 2 pads on the logic control board (and hopefully getting a test pattern.I'm guessing do this with it turned off and it will turn itself on) I can verify my PDP is still good (which has me worried getting all this crazy looking pixels all over the screen) and perhaps tell me that my main video board is bad? Am I crazy or this sound correct?

I've got an upper y-buffer coming today so that now maybe I can have an entire full screen full of crazy colored pixels to look at until I can figure out what this problem is.

I've purchased used componets off ebay (supposedly 100% ust here.) and replaced the y-sus (same crazy amount of colored pixels across bottom.can't make anything out on screen).replaced z-sus (same resulting colored pixels covering entire lower half).I've even purchased another logic control board (same resulting colors.but get a different D101 blink code on the logic control board). Turn tv on, lower half of screen full of all sorts of colored pixels moving around (connected to video source and am guessing they're moving with the video). Removed from tv and checked lower y-buffer (no shorts). Found top y-buffer, 2nd chip down shorted.
